About Us

The Chinese Tourist Guide Professional Association of Canada was founded on April 11, 2012. Initially, a large majority of the members were guides in the vicinity of Toronto who spoke both English and mandarin. Since then, our association has expanded greatly; with almost 100 employees we now offer tours for many new places such as Ottawa, Montreal and even Vancouver.

With a diverse Canadian and Chinese staff, the CTGPA is a proud employer of highly knowledgeable, experienced, professional, and dedicated tour guides. They act as a bridge for Chinese and Canadian relations, connecting them for the past 20 years.

During these times, the majority of Chinese tourists arrive in Canada on business trips and as official visitors representing the Government of China. It is because of the status of our customers that we only maintain the highest quality of guides, who are able to act as interpreters and answer all their questions about things such as local customs, laws, and many others such as history, philosophy, politics, finance, education, etc. Additionally, our customers are not always solely visiting for sightseeing purposes. A large portion of visitors have other goals such as investment projects, meetings, and stage performances. These kinds of events are much different than regular tourism. These demands challenge us to train our staff to be more prepared to meet these challenges in a way that is both professional and time efficient. It is due to our success in meeting these standards that our guides receive high praise from both Canadian and Chinese parties alike.

Today, the ADS has a new goal in mind; to get more and more people to visit Canada. Many ADS groups are bringing more and more Chinese visitors to visit other countries since China first opened its doors to the world. Since China has started to develop and maintain a positive economic influence, they started to broaden their horizons and its people expressed greater interested in visiting the outside world. This demographic is growing at a rapid rate. However, the number of people visiting strictly on business are also vastly increasing and need to be catered to as well. What comes into question now for us is how to improve tour marketing, how to service these different groups, and how to make Canada an appealing country to visit for these people. This is an extremely important project not only because Canada deserves recognition as a great place for opportunity, but also because we feel obligated to represent Canada as its diplomat to the world.

The Chinese Tourist Guide Professional Association of Canada is a Canadian registered, non-profit organization, founded and established by experienced guides with a great sense dedication and responsibility, it was established to represent the vast majority of bilingual tour guides. Our mission statement: service, professionalism, and solidarity. We will organize the Chinese tour guides of Canda to service this mission.

According to the Canadian National Tourism committee news, since 2010 Canada has become the main destination of Chinese tourists. The average growth rate of visitors is 20% per year. The total number of tourists is estimated to be up to 400 thousand people per year. These guests will enjoy the ultimate tour guide service under our association.

As a non-profit organization, we will greatly assist the tour market, protecting our members and clients. We will make the utmost effort to ensure your visit will be one you can never forget.
